Archival Glimpses
Im dreimonatlichen Wechsel geben im VALIE EXPORT Center Linz zwei Vitrinen anhand physischer Dokumente aus dem Vorlass der Künstlerin Einsicht in Grundlagen und Hintergründe eines umfangreichen Schaffens. Archival Glimpses sollen als Inspiration dienen, sich intensiver und vertiefend mit dem Vorlass der Medien- und Performancekünstlerin zu beschäftigen. Archival Glimpses, Take 11 VALIE EXPORT im Interview Die aktuellen Vitrinen zeigen eine Auswahl an Korrespondenz und Drucksachen zu Interviews mit VALIE EXPORT. Die Künstlerin hat in den vielen Jahren ihrer künstlerischen Tätigkeit zahlreiche Gespräche mit Vertreter*innen der Presse und des Kunst- und Kulturbetriebs geführt, die großteils in Tageszeitungen, Kunstzeitschriften oder Publikationen abgedruckt wurden. Einige der Gespräche wurden im Rahmen von Diplom- oder Dissertationsvorhaben geführt und veröffentlicht. Die Interviews geben Auskunft über eine künstlerische und politische Haltung und daneben Einblick in künstlerische Entscheidungen, gesellschaftliche Umstände und die Bedingungen des Kunstmarkts. Two display cases at the VALIE EXPORT Center Linz with contents changing every three months provide insights into the Archive on the basis of physical documents from the premature legacy. The current display cases show a selection of correspondence and printed matter relating to interviews with VALIE EXPORT. In the many years of her artistic activity, the artist has conducted numerous conversations with representatives of the press and the art and culture industries, most of which were printed in daily newspapers, art magazines or publications. Some of the conversations were conducted and published as part of diploma or dissertation projects. The interviews provide information about an artistic and political attitude and, in addition, insights into artistic decisions, social circumstances and the  conditions of the art market.
