FMR is coming back! The 2nd edition of our biennial festival for art in digital contexts and public spaces will take place soon. Except more days, more program & more artists. We would love to welcome you at our festival. The festival, whose title alludes to ephemerality and short-livedness, presents works whose initial ideas can be found in virtual and/or digital space or have a strong reference to it, but are shown (sometimes in a transformed way) in the physical surroundings of the city of Linz. The focus is primarily on the interstices that arise during these transformations into public space – outside of museums, galleries or art spaces. At the same time, LINZ FMR attempts to subject the concept of sculpture to a contemporary update and to reflect on questions of transience, ephemerality and obviousness. LINZ FMR 21 is curated and organized by the independent artist collective qujOchÖ, the net culture initiative servus.at, the Atelierhaus Salzamt, the University of Art and Design Linz and the Sturm und Drang Galerie. FMR kommt wieder! Die zweite Ausgabe des biennalen Festivals für Kunst in digitalen Kontexten und öffentlichen Räumen findet schon bald statt. Es erwarten euch mehr Tage, mehr Programm und mehr KünstlerInnen. Das Festival, dessen Titel auf Vergänglichkeit und Kurzlebigkeit anspielt, präsentiert Arbeiten, deren Ausgangsideen im virtuellen und/oder digitalen Raum zu finden sind oder einen starken Bezug dazu haben, die aber (teilweise in transformierter Form) in der physischen Umgebung der Stadt Linz gezeigt werden. Der Fokus liegt dabei vor allem auf den Zwischenräumen, die bei diesen Transformationen in den öffentlichen Raum – außerhalb von Museen, Galerien oder Kunsträumen – entstehen. Gleichzeitig versucht LINZ FMR, den Begriff der Skulptur einer zeitgemäßen Aktualisierung zu unterziehen und Fragen der Vergänglichkeit, Ephemerität und Selbstverständlichkeit zu reflektieren. Kuratiert und organisiert wird LINZ FMR 21 vom unabhängigen Künstlerkollektiv qujOchÖ, der Netzkulturinitiative servus.at, dem Atelierhaus Salzamt, der Kunstuniversität Linz und der Sturm und Drang Galerie.
